Farewell our faithful friend…

Today we had to make the difficult decision to put our sweet Waldo to sleep. He was 14 years old and has been declining rapidly the last couple of weeks. He was a wonderful dog. We got him from Brandon’s sister back in ’99, he was 4 years old at the time. He was a weiner dog mix, half long hair, half short hair, half mini and half full size. The dashchund’s were bred to hunt for badgers, that is why they are so short and long so that they could burrow through the ground. We would always joke that Waldo was in the backyard looking for badger’s, he would always run the perimeter of the yard and our backyard is full of  ‘badger’ holes.

He never once complained as we brought 3 more children and 5 dogs into our home. Goodbye Waldo, we love you!

Can you say Drama?

At the risk of sounding like Jerry Seinfeld right now, What is the deal with girls! OH MY GOSH! My daughter is such the little drama queen and is only 5 years old. Where can it even go from here? Only worse I’m thinking. Everyday is a new drama, a new melt down and nothing will ever be all right again in the world. Today something as innocent as my sweet Hayden picking one of my roses and giving it to me as he walked through the door. Can you say drama? There was a melt down, squealing that I don’t quite understand, hopping and so on. She wanted to give me a rose!

‘Go pick me a rose then! Just hurry because the baby is trying to get outside!’

By the time she RIPPED a rose off my bush I was frustrated with the crying baby that I was fighting with to stay inside that I yelled ‘Thank you! I love it!!!’

The crying and squealing and hysterics did not go away after that.

‘You like Hayden’s rose better than my rose! I don’t want you to love his rose more than mine!’

‘I love both the roses the same, just like I love both of you the same’

‘NOOOOOOOOOOO’ followed by squeals and sobs like she’s 14 and was just dumped by her first boyfriend.

I can only imagine what that will be like!
